Dorothy Redsecker Cadmus

Dorothy Ream Redsecker Cadmus of Sun City Center, FL, 93, passed away on January 29, 2025. She is survived by her sisters Alice Louise Burgess and Ella Lee Agambar; her five children Susan Chang, Lois Larus, Jay Cadmus, Jennifer Cadmus, and Laura King, and her nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Raymond Jay Cadmus, Sr. after 62 years of happy marriage.

Dot was born on November 9, 1931 in Baltimore, Maryland, the second daughter born to Abraham Ream Redsecker and Alice Louise Jones Redsecker. She moved to New Jersey as a teenager where she later met her husband to be, Ray, and married him in 1956. Dot was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker.

She held a Home Economics degree from Meredith College, in Raleigh, North Carolina, one of the few women of her generation to do so. She also worked as a pastor’s secretary in a nearby church when her children were in high school.

Her great love was children, first her own, then, passionately, the toddlers to whom who she taught Sunday School for over twenty years at their home church, Cary Alliance.

The family regrets that the services for Dorothy will be postponed to a future date. We apologize for any inconvenience.
