Growing up, Mac attended St. Catherine's Grade School (1963) and graduated from Dundee High School (1967). After graduation, he attended and graduated from Airline Training School. Following that, he then joined the United States Army (1969-1971), becoming an E-5 sergeant. Throughout his career of 37 years, he held various positions in the airline industry mainly in customer service with multiple airlines, including Ozark Airlines, TWA Airlines and American Airlines.
Mac enjoyed SCCA Racing where he won many trophies and awards. He was a member of the SCCA Racing Club of America.
Throughout 35 years, Mac and Patty traveled to every continent but Antarctica, Tasmania being the closest they ever got to it. They set sail on 31 ocean cruises and 1 river cruise. Mac loved being a season ticket holder for the St. Louis Rams.
Mac was a good, kind and caring human who always put the needs of others above his own. He was a devoted and loving husband who also loved his family. He was a friend to and was loved by many. In his final days, he demonstrated that he was brave, accepting and at peace. He exemplified to all of us the way we should face our own end of life, with both dignity and grace.
Mac is survived by his wife, Patricia "Patty" McCullough McMillan; son Thomas "Tom" Clayton; sister Margaret "Peggy" McMillan Babcock (Ron), brother Douglas "Doug" McMillan (Betty) and sister Diane McMillan Guetschow (Steve).
In addition to his parents, Mac was preceded in death by his brothers Daniel "Dan" Pender (Sherry); Dennis McMillan (Verba) and Richard "Dick" McMillan (Diana).

There will be a private Celebration of Life that will take place on Friday, October 8, 2021.
