Isabell “Issie” Ruth Rutherford, 90, of Sarasota, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family, at the Pines of Sarasota, where she received excellent loving care, Aug. 28, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, of 47 years, Jack L. Rutherford.
Born Aug. 30, 1925, in Reading, MI, she was a daughter of the late Charles Oliver Towne and Erma Starr Cornish Towne. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jean Gierhart.
She was a beautiful, loving, happy, fun loving, and ornery, FUN woman, whose family meant EVERYTHING to her. She was an avid golfer, obtaining two holes in one, an Avon Lady, cruise and garage sale queen. She loved crafts and made beautiful one of a kind pieces. Her best attribute was her family especially her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Jenny Miller, of Sarasota; her son, Jeffrey (Cathy) Lynn Rutherford, of Osprey, FL; sister, Donna Hoff, of Hicksville, OH, and Judi (Bob) Mullett, of Sarasota; 6 grandchildren, Greg, Kerry, Holly, Brandon, Ryan, and Todd, and 10 great-grandchildren.
