John Thomas Brewer III, 61 of Bradenton, died Tuesday April 25. He was born on April 4, 1956 in Kountze, Texas to John Thomas Brewer, II and Margie Kinard Brewer McIntyre. He grew up in Silsbee, Texas. He left Silsbee after high school to proudly serve his country in the United States Army. This led him to Bradenton, Florida. He hired on with Tropicana and worked there for 36 years before retiring in 2014. While at Tropicana he met, fell in love with and married Mary Delvalle. John and Mary were married 30 years, until her death in 2009. Together they had three children that they loved dearly.
John was a good man. He was kind-hearted and had an infectious smile. He was a very patient and soft-spoken man who loved his family more than anything. When he hugged you, he really hugged you. He loved watching football (especially if the Bucs were playing well) and watching the Tampa Bay Rays. He hardly ever left to go anywhere without a hat on. He had a very large hat collection. John was affectionately known as "Junior" to his mother and siblings. He made yearly trips home to Silsbee and enjoyed making the rounds to visit his large circle of family and friends. He enjoyed ride-a-longs with his brother, a long-time Texas police officer. John will be greatly missed by his family because he was such a big part of their lives.
John is survived by his children, John Thomas Brewer IV (Johnny), Candi Brewer and Trea' Jon Brown; grandchildren Kasia Brewer and Kaiden Malburg; girlfriend, Janki Brown; mother Margie McIntyre; siblings Kathy Brewer Mitchell, James (Jimmy) Brewer, Charles Brewer (Michelle), Cyndi Brewer, Shirley McIntyre Cook, Tommy McIntyre (Dolly), Kristi Jones and many nieces and nephews that adored him.
John is preceded in death by his wife Mary Brewer; daughter Crystal Barfield; father, John Thomas Brewer II; siblings Brenda Brewer Salter, Sharon Brewer Erickson and Harold McIntyre.
Visitation is from 10am to 1pm, with a Funeral Service following at 1pm at the Manasota Funeral Home 1221 53rd Ave East, Bradenton, FL 34203.
