Laura grew up on the Gordonsville Airport, in Northern Virginia, which her father ran until he retired in the early 1970s. After 34 years of working at the Manatee County Central Library, Laura retired to a life at home with her husband, Larry.
She was a fun-loving, thoughtful, and generous person who loved her family. Laura enjoyed researching her genealogy and locating distant and new family members. Her main hobbies were scrapbooking, cardmaking, knitting, and crocheting. However, she was very creative and loved all craft projects, sharing her hobbies with everyone.
She is survived by her loving husband Larry Jacobs; daughter, Anne Bridges, and granddaughter, Darian Canton; son, Toby Jacobs,Jacob's, and grandchildren, Braden and Brittany Jacobs; brother, Tom Whitmore, sister-in-law, Sue Whitmore, nieces, Courtney and Mindy Whitmore, and grandniece, Sadie Forbis.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard & Eleanor Whitmore; step-brothers, Robert and Richard Whitmore; mother-in-law, Ethel Carpenter; and son-in-law, Garret Bridges.
