

Mary Calcagno, of Bradenton FL, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2017. Mary was born in Brooklyn, NY to Rose and Domenick Mayo, Italian immigrants who arrived in the U.S though Ellis Island. Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband Vincent “Jim” Calcagno, sisters Josie, Fay, and Ann, and brother Vincent.
Mary was cherished by her daughter Barbara Calcagno Page, grandson Craig Page and his wife Chelsea, grandson Garrett Page, and sister Blanche Drapun. Her grandsons were the light of her life. She is lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law and close friends.
Mary worked in banking for most of her life and was the first woman promoted to a management position at Greenpoint Savings Bank in New York. When she retired, she worked for OTB (Off Track Betting) in Long Island, NY.
Mary was a fashionista, and was always beautifully dressed with matching jewelry, makeup, and perfectly styled hair.
Mary was always the life of the party and was famous for the dinners, pool parties, and New Year’s Eve parties she hosted for friends and family. She loved singing and dancing and was known to break into a song any time and any place.
Mary’s funeral service will be held at 4pm on Thursday February 9 at Woodland Community Church, 9607 E State Road 70, Bradenton, FL .
In lieu of flowers a memorial gift may be given in her name to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements under the direction of Manasota Memorial Park and Funeral Home, Bradenton, FL.
