Paul Eugene DeYoung

Paul Eugene DeYoung went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 02, 2011. Paul was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on April 21, 1930 to John and Luella DeYoung and touched many lives during his journey here on earth. Paul was a veteran of the Army Air Corps and a 25 year veteran of the Police Department in Portage, Michigan.

Paul was a special man with a simple, quiet grace,

he loved to laugh and play his pranks with a small smile upon his face.

His family and friends and everyone he held dear,

all know he’s now in heaven helping to wipe away our tears.

For Paul is with the Lord and for him there is no more pain,

but those of us on earth will miss him every day.

Paul is preceded in death by his father John DeYoung, his mother Luella and his sister, Yvonne. Paul is survived by his wife Faith of Palmetto, Florida; a son Brett and daughter-in-law Sandie of Louisville, Kentucky; a son Wade of Kansas City, Missouri; a daughter Holly who lives in the Kingdom of Bahrain; grandchildren Jesse and wife Kara, Casey and wife Jessica, and Micah, and great grandchildren Clare, Gray and Harper, all of Louisville, Kentucky.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Fraternal Order of Police Memorial Foundation, 242 Office Plaza, Tallahassee, Florida 32301.
