

Phyllis Taylor Colapietro, age 82, daughter of George and Helen Howard Taylor, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on February 13, 2018 at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida. She is predeceased by her first husband, William "Bunny" Blakeslee, and her second husband, Vito J. Colapietro. Phyllis is also predeceased by her sisters, Marion Roche and Eleanor Brouker, and brother, Lincoln Taylor, Sr. She is survived by her sisters, Janet Robidoux and Jessica Colgate, along with numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews including Michael Roche, David Roche, Kathy Roche, Thomas Roche, Lincoln Taylor, Jr., Michaela Roche, Pete Roche, Elizabeth Roche and Emerson Roche. Phyllis was born at Waterbury Hospital in Waterbury, CT on July 2, 1935 and was raised in Bristol, CT. For several years, she worked as a Dental Technician at the Murray Kaizer Laboratory in Bristol, CT, beginning her training as a teenager. Phyllis is best known for her huge heart. Family was of utmost importance to her as she truly enjoyed spending time with her siblings, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Throughout her life, she was a caretaker of many persons who crossed her path and was a mother figure to many of her nieces and nephews. For the past twenty-seven years, Phyllis and her late husband, Vito, made Bradenton, Florida their home. Along with the sunshine, shoreline and the cool evening breezes, she loved playing cards and cribbage with family and friends, playing miniature golf, gardening, shopping and putting puzzles together. Phyllis was loved by many for her generous and caring spirit and respected as a true warrior, surving Breast Cancer and Heart Disease. She will missed dearly.
