Rollin L. "Rollie" Cashner, 97, of Sarasota, passed away at Sarasota Memorial Hospital on April 15, 2021. Rollin was born in Greentown, OH. He graduated from Lehman High School, where he met the love of his life, Margaret "Dee Dee" Kindelberger. He served in the Army during WWII. Afterward, they moved to Sarasota in 1966 from Canton, OH. Here he continued his career in the automobile business. Rollin retired from Hoagland Oldsmobile in 1989. Rollin enjoyed boating, especially fishing, shrimping, and scalloping with family and friends.
Rollin was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years and his son, Steven. Rollin is survived by his son, Roger (Sandy); daughter, Barbara K. Thaggard (Stephen); and daughter-in-law, Barbara J. Cashner; grandsons, Phillip Cashner (Andrea), Robert Thaggard (Julia); granddaughters, Jan Maynard (Tony) and Elizabeth Walker; great-granddaughters, Hayley Peters (Corey), Lauryn Walker, Morgan Maynard, and Kylie Samus; and great-grandson, Janson Maynard.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 1st, at Robert Toale & Sons Funeral Home at Manasota Memorial Park, 1221 53rd Ave. E., Bradenton from 1 until 3pm. Graveside services at Sarasota National Cemetery with military honors will be held on Tuesday, May 4th, at 10am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Rollin's honor can be made to a charity of your choice.
