James was a truck driver for most of his life and enjoyed bringing treasures back home to his family. He was an avid hunter and fisherman; and also enjoyed working with leather. James loved riding motorcycles, his Honda Goldwing was his favorite mode of transportation.
James was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Christine. He is survived by his wife, Janet, of 54 years; his son, Anthony and his wife, Michele Scarpone; his daughter, Wendy and her husband, Al Wesighan; his daughter, Kim Webber; his son, Robert and his wife, Rebekah Scarpone; his son, Andy and his wife, Sarah Scarpone; his 8 amazing grandchildren, Brooke, Gary, Corrine, Aidan, Tyler, Ryan, Dylan and Kaitlyn; and his brother, Tommy and his wife, Donna Scarpone.
James will be missed immensely by all who had the pleasure of knowing him and his quirky sarcastic remarks.
Memorial Visitation will be held from 1 pm to 4 pm on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main St, Branchville, NJ, a Prayer Service will be held at 3:30 pm followed by Military Honors. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at Montague Volunteer Fire Department .
