

Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, in 1934, Janet was the daughter of Eugene L. and Bertha (née Beyer) Williams. She graduated from Hillside High School in Hillside, NJ, in 1952. Janet went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Education from Kean College and later a Master of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin.
Throughout her life, Janet lived in several New Jersey communities, including Hillside, Millburn, Orange, Montclair, Cedar Grove, and Randolph, before settling in Frankford Township in 1997. She began her professional career as an elementary school teacher in Millburn, NJ, where she taught from 1958 to 1961. In the 1990s, Janet worked for the Multiple Sclerosis Service Organization in Morris County, NJ, and she later volunteered for many years with OMS International Inc.
Janet was a longtime and devoted member of Lafayette Bible Church, where she taught women’s Bible studies and faithfully served on the Missions Team for many years. A gifted violinist, she performed with several chamber music groups and orchestras for more than 50 years. Janet also had a passion for engineering and creativity; she built model bridges and lectured extensively on the history of bridges, and she taught creative thinking classes for both children and adults.
Janet is survived by her sons, John Neidhardt of Frankford; Jerome Neidhardt and his wife, Julia of Dover; three grandchildren, James and his wife, Emilia, Joshua and Rebekah; and 2 nieces and a nephew. She was predeceased by her husband, W. Jim Neidhardt in 1993 and her sister, Lorraine Williams Anderson.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 11 am at Lafayette Bible Church, 180 NJ-15, Lafayette Township, NJ.
