Shirley Lee Heater

Shirley was born in Newton on August 5, 1951 to the late Leon and Betty (Depuy) Decker. Shirley was a lifelong Sussex County resident. Prior to her retirement in 2016, Shirley was a commercial underwriter for Franklin Mutual Insurance Company for 40 years. Shirley was an avid reader of Amish novels, enjoyed listening to country music, gardening and traveling. She loved to spend time with her family and spent many days out in her gazebo bird watching and spending time in nature.

The beloved wife of 48 years to Carl Heater, Shirley is survived by her daughter, Tunya Heater-Kyzer and her husband, Ronald; her grandson, Kellen Kyzer and her siblings, Bonnie Wallace, David Decker, Cindy Tims and Dawn Russell. Along with her parents, her brother, Danny Decker, predeceased Shirley.

A celebration of life will be held privately at a later date.
