Barbara Jean DeDora

Born in Omaha, Nebraska she moved to Southern California with her parents Adelor and June Rustad as a young girl.

Barbara worked Plumtree Convalescent Facility serving the elderly for 20 years then moving on to Director at Woodside Terrace assisted living facility. She retired early to care for her Husband Doug who was battling Parkinson's disease.

She raised 12 Guide Dog puppies and her biggest joy was to watch them graduate and be presented to their new owner. She got very involved with Dogs for Diabetics with her “career changed” Guide Dogs.

She volunteered at her church where she made cherished friends. Summers were her favorite where she could take Ivy to Veterans Memorial Park to let Ivy “check her email.” but mostly, she loved to marinate in her Summerset pool with her good friends. She will be deeply missed by all.

She is survived by her 2 children Steven DeDora and Marnie McCollough, her 4 Grandchildren Robert, Amanda, Melissa and Reagan, and her 4 Great Grand Children Riley, Grayson, Milo and Cody.

Services for Barbara are pending at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations to Guide Dogs for the blind, Dogs for diabetics, or Parkinson’s foundation would be greatly appreciated.
