A 23-year Resident of Discovery Bay.
Jim passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep at his home on Sunday, October 14, 2012.
Jim was born in Chicago, IL. on Thursday, July 8th 1943. His family, mother and father
Harold and Joyce Fenrich, now deceased, moved to Southern California when he
was young and he graduated from San Fernando High School. He married his
high school sweetheart, Ellen, on May 4th, 1963 and they settled in Simi
Valley, CA. They moved their young family to Discovery Bay in 1989 where
they still reside. Jim and Ellen celebrated 49 years of marriage in May.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen, their three son's Zachary, Matthew and
Michael and their respective wives Bobbi, Magda and Kamila,his grand
girls Nicolle, Katie and Nadia, his aunt Loretta Wuich of Chicago, IL;
siblings Sharon Poppen of Lake Havasu, AZ; Donna Malkin of Phoenix, AZ;
Arthur Fenrich of Tulsa, OK; Janice Johnson of Palmdale, CA; Kelly Marvel of
Canoga Park, CA; and Casey Marvell-Sellentin of Bridgehampton, NY. He had
many nieces and nephews but was particularly close with Rob Brooks of
Discovery Bay, CA; Kim Mann of Pleasanton, CA; Jacob Wood of Palmdale, CA;
and Michael Spadafino of Newport, RI.
Jim will be remembered for his passion for life, his love and devotion to
his family and friends, and his love of people.
He was an inspiration and will be missed by all that knew him.
A private viewing with family and lifelong friends was held at the Brentwood
Funeral Home on Friday, October 19th followed by and a memorial service on
Saturday, October 20th, 2012, which was a gathering of well over, 100 family and friends.
Jim is laid to rest in the historic Union Cemetery in Brentwood, close to his
beloved family in nearby Discovery Bay.
