Charles Bartle Keller (Chuck) was born in Philadelphia, PA on May 24, 1937 Charles was a loving husband, dad, poppy and super poppy. Everyone who knew him loved his great sense of humor, sweet smiles and kind heart!
Charles was the second child for his parents, Paul & Mildred Keller. He had one older sister, Joan and 3 younger sisters, Millie, Sue and Nancy. And 1 brother Bill. As time went by and shortly before graduating from Roxborough High School he enlisted in the U. S. Naval Air Reserves on April 2, 1955 and received orders for active duty on March 20, 1957. In February 1958 he was assigned to Attack Squadron 86. He served on air craft carriers USS RANDOLPH, and USS INDEPENDENCE. He was released from active duty on February 6, 1960.
Chuck had loved to sing as a child and as an adult he had a beautiful voice!! He had joined his family’s church choir before he was in the Navy. As soon as he returned home he went back to church choir where he met Shirley Miller, who had recently moved to Philadelphia. It was love at first sight and soon they were dating and he was taking her home to his parents’ home to share Sunday dinners. On August 26, 1961 they had a beautiful wedding and a wonderful honeymoon in his very favorite car - a spectacular 1954 Black Lincoln Capri!!
On July 11, 1963 they welcomed their first son, Charles Bartle Keller, Jr. and on May 26, 1965 they were thrilled to have a second son, Curtis Paul Keller. In 1970 Chuck was transferred from his PA job at Unisys to Salt Lake City, Utah . On October 1st, 1971 they were delighted to have their first baby girl - Cynthia Lynne Keller (now Cyndy Loyd.)
In 1983 Chuck was once again transferred - this time to very cold Minnesota!! In 1987 Chuck got a new job with Verifone and the family once again moved - this time to sunny Fremont, CA!. Chuck retired in 1999 and he & Shirley then moved to Antioch, CA. In late September 2022, Chuck & Shirley moved into a beautiful apartment un TreVista Senior Care in Antioch.
All during his life Chuck kept people smiling. Everyone who ever met him knew he was a caring, loving and fun person. Chuck had a beautiful tenor voice and he loved singing!! He & Shirley sang with St. John’s Lutheran Church Choir from the moment they joined the church. They also sang with the Singing Messengers for over 20 years and loved every minute of it!!
