

David was born at Letterman Hospital in San Francisco, graduated from Livermore High School then started a career with Pacific Gas and Electric Company. His career was interrupted when he was drafted into the Army during the Viet Nam War. After serving in Germany he returned to P.G.&E. where he worked many jobs from ditch digger, truck driver, equipment buyer and finally foreman of the Gas Meter Plant in Fremont. After 38 years he retired in March 2004. He enjoyed riding and rebuilding motorcycles, especially Harleys, driving and drag racing Corvettes, and spending weekends in his motor home. He had been a board member of the Fremont Harley Owners Group and National Corvette Association. He also was a former member of Discovery Bay Corvettes and Gold Rush Allegros RV club. While his daughter was young he volunteered at East Avenue School in Hayward, Timber Point School in Discovery Bay and Excelsior School in Byron.
David is lovingly remembered by his wife of 25 years, Diane and devoted daughter, Ashley both of Discovery Bay. He is predeceased by his daughter Karolyn, twin sons William and Christopher and parents William and Caroline. He is survived by his brothers, Richard and James Kevern, sister Judy Sanchez, his mother-in-law Rosemary Tonjes and brothers-in-law Stephen Tonjes and Gary Tonjes.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 11:00am at Neighborhood Church , 50 Birch Street in Brentwood.
