Joseph Senn (loving husband of Marilyn Senn for 41 years; father of four, grandfather of eight, great grandfather of three), long-term resident of: San Jose, Cupertino, Discovery Bay, and most recently of Oakley, has passed away on Tuesday, January 7th.
Initially raised in Toledo, Ohio, Joe’s parents and sister moved to the California coast at the age of five, mostly due to Joe’s asthma condition. During the past two recent years, Joe had been suffering from neuropathy and three different types of cancer (lung, throat, scalp); yet succumbed to unexpected pneumonia at 80 years old.
As a young man, Joe developed an early love for car racing. In 1975, became crew chief for the very successful “A” production Matkovich Racing Team, which turned into a life-long friendship. Joe devotedly followed NASCAR and cheered for the 49ers! Joe and his wife were able to enjoy a lot of world traveling and boating, especially time spent with family and friends. He had a life full of love… and he fought the good fight.
Joe really enjoyed being a member of the East Contra Costa Historical Society and volunteered as part of “the Breakers” restoration team. Joe would have preferred in continuing to help them out with their many ongoing projects. Please consider making a donation in his name to them.
A memorial service for Joe will be held at Noon on Saturday, February 8th, 2025,
at the Brentwood Funeral Home (839 First Street, Brentwood, CA 94513).
