Katherine (Kathy) was born in Dallas, Texas to parents Bill and Marie. She was loving, supportive and a staunch defender of both her children and grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by family and friends throughout the country from Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Indiana, Missouri and Illinois all the way to the California Coast where she lived and grew deep roots for the last 38 years. She was a kind and generous friend to all that knew her.
Kathy was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert (Bob) in 2012. She showed great strength and perseverance at the time of his sudden passing and kept her steadfast faith that she would see him again. Her fifty- year marriage was quite the accomplishment being that he was a life long St. Louis Cardinals fan and she a steadfast Chicago Cubs fan. They learned to live with their differences however as evidenced by the production of 5 children.
She had a great love of animals and had many figurines throughout her home that she had named her "God Loves". Her biggest love was of dogs. Her beloved fur baby Katie and her grand fur baby Joey brought her endless joy. She loved nothing more than to take a nap on the couch with her Katie and Joey curled up next to her. She was at peace with them around her. As mentioned above she also loved her Chicago Cubs and enjoyed going to the games whenever they played in the Bay Area. She called them "My Boys" and rooted for them no matter their place in the baseball standings.
Everyone she knew was treated like family. The friends of her children were not just friends but were her children as well. Many of them still call her "Mom" to this day. Most, if not all, that knew her will remember her for her wonderful sense of humor. Kathy could find a laugh in just about any situation and it is what endeared her to so many. She could be sad and tearful one minute then find something funny to say the next minute.
She is survived by her children Christina Krider, Daniel Krider, Laura Martinez (Juan), James Krider (Kimberly) and Caroline Krider, and grandchildren Erica (Marc), Michael, Emily (Eric), Claire and Julianne. As well as many more family from miles around.
A special thank you to the amazing doctors and nurses who lovingly cared for her at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Walnut Creek. Her memory will forever be in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
"Amazing grace! How sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found, was blind but now I see."
