Linda Gail was born on Aug. 20, 1941, at her grandparents’ home in Ellison Ridge, Mississippi. She graduated from St. Mary’s College with a degree in business administration. She was the director of human resources for 35 years, starting at Mobile Infirmary in Mobile, Alabama, and then University of Tennessee.
After moving to California, she was the human resources director for Viacom Cable in Pleasanton, and finally, Western Communications in San Francisco where she retired in 1999. Linda was also the first female member of the Dublin Rotary in 1986.
Linda Finley was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She loved being with her husband of 54 years, Jim, in their yellow golf cart in Summerset, going for rides and visiting their many friends. She loved her grandchildren and would spend as much time as she could with them at her home, sporting events, cheer competitions and birthday celebrations. Her many friends will always remember Linda’s gracious southern charm and good humor.
A Celebration of her Life is scheduled for family and close friends, on Friday, May 6, at 2 p.m., at the Brentwood Funeral Home, with a reception to follow at their home, from 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Linda would want a donation to the American Cancer Society.
