

Thomas Donald Anderson, age 71, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 21, 2024. Born on September 10, 1953, in Hayward, CA, Tom moved to Livermore before high school, where he would meet his future wife, Deborah Ann Peterson, and build a life filled with friendship, family, and a love for community.
Tom graduated from Granada High School in Livermore, CA, and spent most of his career in the grocery industry. Known for his hardworking spirit and commitment, he also earned the affectionate nickname “Tommy Tuna” early in his career. Outside of work, Tom was an avid trap shooter and a proud member of the Livermore Rod and Gun Club where he was awarded with a Lifetime Membership. He dedicated over ten years volunteering with the Livermore Police Department, an endeavor close to his heart. Tom loved the outdoors, especially camping and spending time on the lake. He had a rare talent for making friends wherever he went, and his outgoing nature and warmth left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Throughout his life, Tom went by many affectionate nicknames. He was “Tommy” to his aunts, uncles, and cousins, “Old Fart” to his son, “Dad” or “Daddy” to his daughter, “Paw” to his cherished grandchildren, “Uncle Tom” to his nieces and nephews, and simply “Me” to his beloved wife, Debbie. Those who knew Tom will forever remember his humor, generous spirit, and the friendships he formed effortlessly.
Tom is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Debbie; his daughter Kristy “Kid” Brabec; his son David “Guido” Anderson; and his grandchildren, Liam Brabec, Sarah Anderson, Katie Rhodes, and Nick Rhodes. He also leaves behind his sister Janet Judd and his brother Robert Anderson. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Virginia Anderson, and his brother Ralph Anderson.
A celebration of Tom’s life will be held on November 9th 2024 at the Livermore Rod and Gun Club at 11:30am. Tom’s legacy of kindness, humor, and dedication to family and community will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
