William John York

William John York Discovery Bay Resident Bill was born July 21, 1944, in Oakland, CA and passed away March 18, 2011 at Kaiser Hospital in Antioch, CA. He touched many lives with his generous spirit, positive outlook on life and his devilish sense of humor. He was a member of the Discovery Bay Country Club and Live Oak Masonic Lodge #61. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, reading and watering the garden. He was happiest preparing and sharing meals with his family and friends. Predeceased by his parents Wallace and Lorraine York of Oakland, CA. He is survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law Terri and Don Marlett of Discovery Bay and was beloved "Grandpa Mustache" to Kayla and Zack Marlett. Also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Dr. Jerry Hightower of Hayward, CA, and many nieces and nephews. Bill is also survived by his dear friend Estelle Davi, close friends Karen and Noel O'Connell, his loyal companion a yellow Lab named, Goldie and many, many wonderful friends and golf buddies. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 25th at 12:00 Noon at the Discovery Bay Country Club in Discovery Bay, CA.
