I am so sorry for your loss. 
I only met him once but I recall him as being very nice and jovial. 
My sincere condolence to all his family and especially sorry he didn’t get to meet our great granddaughter Harper.

Esther, Lori, David, Chris & families, 
     Warren (his maiden name) was the oldest of the cousins but we were close because our mothers were so close. I remember when he went to college, I used to go in his room and play his record player, which I thought was great! Your wedding was spectacular and when you had David, he asked me to be his Godmother which was special to me. The memories of visits, reunions, weddings and FaceTime calls to catch up flood my mind right now. He was small in stature but big in personality and kindness. Never doubt his love for his family.—the family of which he was so proud! I miss him already.

My mother was great friends with Warren’s mother and aunts, and I am a lifelong friend of Sue Bunch.  I still have a vivid memory of attending your wedding to Warren and the reception so many years ago in Tampa. I was a young teenager and felt so grown-up to be invited to a wonderful sit down dinner and to be sharing in the celebration.  Please accept my condolences for your loss.

Esther, I just opened the paper and saw the obituary of your husband.  I remember him well just speaking to him at the front desk.  I do remember you even better  from water classes at the Y. We frequently talked.  I just wanted to extend my sincere sympathy in your loss.  Sincerely, Joy James

David was my half brother and I remember many years ago when he would come to NM to see our Dad and stay with us.  As the years went by we were able to connect several times, in person and on Face Book.  I found him to be so much like our Father, Glenn Champion.  They were both so kind, loving and so personable.  Every time I saw Dave, I was amazed at how much he resembled our Father.  I am so happy that I was able to connect with Dave and his beautiful family in NY where my daughter lived at the time.  We had a grand party and named it "We Are The Champions"!  Rest in Peace Dear David.   You will be greatly missed.

My sincere condolences to all of the Champion family.  May your many wonderful memories and your faith help you grieve Dave's passing.  Praying for all of you and wishing you the very best!

Our Champ! We've lost our Champion; one the finest classmates and fiends a guy could hope for or have. A member of the infamous Jesuit High, Tampa, Class of '57, Champ was the spirit and beating heart of our class. By far the smallest in stature, he was larger than life, always welcoming, friendly and full of spirit. There was never a dull day with Champ in your life. 
So Champ has moved on through this life, and into another with his God and Savior; be not fearful,  for he is not gone, he has but gone before and will welcome us again in Christ in our final days.  Rest easy, Champ. See you soon.

Seventy years of friendship. I am so very fortunate that my life intersected with Champ those many decades ago and our contact continued through the years.  In recent months Champ was open and realistic that the number of his days was ebbing.  He was always cheerful and upbeat in our conversations, positively hopeful about attending up coming family events.  He proudly shared information about his life, his family, and his career and loved looking back at our teen years and his memorable years at the University of Florida.  He was equally inquisitive and interested in my life story, the attribute of a caring and selfless person.  He is now at peace, breathing freely in his heavenly domain welcomed and surrounded by Sacred Heart and Jesuit classmates and U of F fraternity brothers and friends who preceded him.  Farewell for now my good friend.
