

Dysart Russell Cleeton, age 89 of Nashville. Died Sunday, the second of September, at his home after a lengthy illness. After growing up in Marceline, Missouri, the Depression drove Dyke with his family to California. He learned his life's trade in the US ARMY during World War II when he built runways across the islands of the Pacific Theater. After the war, he met his wife of fifty-one years, Mary O'Conner of Nashville. He ran his own business in Nashville as Dyke Cleeton, Excavating Contractor, for twenty-five years, before retiring at the age of 55. He was a forty-five year member of the Brentwood Country Club, Dyke was also a member of the Nashville Seniors Golf Association. Survivors include his partner, Martha Mosley of Eagleville; three children, Katie Dix and her husband, Joe Dix of Conifer, Colorado, Rush Cleeton and his wife, LaVonne Cleeton of Nashville and Dan Cleeton and his wife, Maxine Cleeton of Brentwood; seven grandchildren, Michael Dix of Gunnison, Colorado, Susan Christine and her husband, Curtis Christine of Aurora, Colorado, Daisey Dix of Arlington, Virginia, Daniel Cleeton and his wife Andrea Cleeton, Lewisville, Texas, Patrick Cleeton of Memphis, Russell Cleeton and his wife, Chanel Cleeton of Columbia, South Carolina, and Sarah Cleeton of Nashville; and two-great-grandchildren, Anna Dix of Arlington, Texas and Katie Christine of Aurora, Colorado. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, September 15th from three o'clock until five o'clock in the evening at Brentwood Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 9010 Churcd Street East, Brentwood, TN 37027, 615-373-3040.
