Born in Jerome, PA she was the daughter of Harry May and Viola (Cable) Price. She was raised by her grandparents, Sylvester Lloyd Cable and Lucinda Stevens Cable and graduated from Conemaugh Township High School (CTHS) in PA. Years later in the 1980’s she earned her Associates degree in Business from Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, Ohio. She had a varied work career ranging from secretary to the Principal at CTHS to Office Manager at H&R Block, to Buyer and Operations Administrator for several companies in the Cleveland area. She enjoyed her work career.
She met her loving husband, Al Keyes, at the Ferndale Carnival in PA. After they married in 1960 they moved to Cleveland, OH and were married for nearly 52 years. She earned her title “Mom” with the birth of their two children, Mary and John. Travel was a passion of theirs and they took annual family vacations and drove to all of the lower 48 states. For their 30th wedding anniversary they celebrated with a trip to Hawaii. For their 50th anniversary they drove out to the Dakotas to see Mount Rushmore. Al passed in July 2012. Fay was determined to see her 50th state and in August 2023 she made it to Alaska. She was thrilled to see Denali.
Fay moved to Spring Hill in 2015 to be closer to family. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter, son-in-law, and grandsons. Fay was a warm and loving person who never met a stranger. She had a kind word for everyone she met. She loved her morning coffee on her back patio watching the horses graze in the field next door. She was an avid Star Trek fan and had a vast collection of their books. She enjoyed reading and bible study. Fay was a fan of Ohio State and the Cleveland Browns football teams. Weekends in the Fall you would find her cheering on her favorite teams with friends. Family meant the world to her and she looked forward to visits with her siblings and nieces and nephews.
We are comforted in the belief that she, Dad, and John are now together in eternity. She will be dearly missed by her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Al Keyes, son John Keyes, sister Shirley Selby, and step-mother Evelyn May.
Fay’s joyful spirit will continue on with her loving daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Todd of Brentwood. Grandsons Andrew (Ashton), Matthew, and Shane. Brothers Bill, Ronnie, Calvin Jr., and Raymond. Sisters Barbara and Gloria. And many cherished and loved nieces and nephews.
A private Celebration of Life will be held later for the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
