

Hal was born in Sylva, NC, on September 10, 1929, to the late John Hayes Wilson and Madge Bridges Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Householder Wilson; siblings Hicks E. Wilson, Mary Wilson Tweed, John Hayes Wilson, Jr., Andrew Bridges Wilson, Agnes Wilson Johnson and Walter Wade Wilson.
Left to cherish his memory are sons Hal Everett Wilson, Jr., James Andrew Wilson and his wife Susanne,
Timothy Scott Wilson and his wife Nancy;
grandchildren Timothy S. Wilson II, Colleen M. Wilson, Matthew J. Wilson,
Elizabeth R. Wilson and Alexandra M. Lankenau; sisters Madge Wilson Webber and Matilda Wilson LaVange;
and very best friend Verna L. Canto. He will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
After graduating from Sylva High School, Hal served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.
During his service, he met the love of his life, Helen. He graduated from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
His 35-year career with Aetna Life and Casualty allowed him to provide well for his family.
He enjoyed a variety of activities away from work including fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends.
In retirement, he volunteered serving the Lord through his church, reading to elementary school children in the FLIP program,
and driving cancer patients to and from their appointments.
He was a longtime and active member of Brentwood United Methodist Church.
His church family was a very important part of his life. Hal was a blessing to us all and will be missed.
Funeral service will be held at eleven o’ clock in the morning on Thursday, October 29, 2015
at Brentwood United Methodist Church in Brentwood, TN with visitation one hour prior.
Honorary Pallbearers are the Robert I. Moore Sunday School Class.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Brentwood United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
