

Miami, Florida. He graduated from Miami High School and enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II where he served as a Pharmacist Mate in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. After his service to his country, he attended the University of Miami where he met his wife, Agnes. They were married for 69 years until her passing in March of 2016.
He lived in Coral Gables, FL for 15 years and worked as a builder for his father and also for the Miami Herald. In 1961 he and his family moved to Wilmington, Delaware where he attended electronic technician school. He worked for Burroughs and RCA where he troubleshooted technical issues with some of the first main frame computers and other electronic equipment. He was also a long time employee of the Philadelphia Inquirer and a member of the Teamsters Union. He spent the remainder of his life in Franklin, TN with his daughter Susan and her family.
Harry loved to travel with his wife and family members spending time backpacking throughout Europe; hiking, camping and traveling throughout Australia and New Zealand. He also traveled extensively throughout North America and visited many of our national parks. After retirement, he bought a second home in Holden Beach, North Carolina; affectionately known as Dogpatch, where he could spend time fishing, boating and playing golf with his family.
Harry loved spectator sports especially golf and football. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and never missed a game. Harry had many talents and could build and fix anything. His family and friends will remember him as a kind and gentle man who loved his family and his dogs above anything.
Harry is survived by his 3 daughters, Velia Buchanan of Bethel , CT, Viva Steffans of Silverthorne, CO, Susan Poore (Don) of Franklin, TN; 5 grandchildren, Ben Buchanan(Lori), Jessie Buchanan, Stacey Creasey (Brett), Jeremy Graves (Lina), Lesleigh Burton (Mike) and 10 great- grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Brentwood-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 9010 Church Street East, Brentwood, TN from 10 to 11 AM on Friday October 21st where friends are invited to greet the family.
