Jeredia “Rita” F. Reynolds 70, of Brentwood, TN, passed away suddenly, unexpectedly, and way too soon on November 28, 2020. Rita was born on December 12, 1949 in Tuscaloosa, AL, the daughter of Newell and Lillian Fife.
When Rita was in middle school, the family moved from Tuscaloosa, AL to Prattville, AL. It was in Prattville that Rita was destined to meet the love of her life, Bill Reynolds. Bill and Rita were married on May 3, 1969 in Prattville, AL, and they spent 51 wonderful years together.
Surviving is her husband, Bill Reynolds of Brentwood, TN; sons, Ryan Reynolds of Cape Coral, FL and Russ Reynolds of Worcester, MA; grandson, Carter Reynolds of Cape Coral, FL; sister, Karen (Phillip) Blake of Ramer, AL; nephews, Jason (Jennifer) Reynolds of Hoover, AL, Chas (Lindsey) Reynolds of Wellington, AL, Dustin (Claudia) Taylor of Richmond, VA, and Jason Fife of Greer, SC; and nieces, Allison (Wesley) Lowman of Leeds, AL, Calah (Matt) Barnes of Hoover, AL, Candice (Luke) Durden of Warrenton, VA, and Madeline (Bob) Smiles of Shepherdstown, WV.
Preceding Rita in death are her parents; older brother, Fred Fife; and younger sister, Diane Burdine.
Rita was a 1968 graduate of Autauga County High School in Prattville, AL, and she received her Associates Degree from Broward College in Fort Lauderdale, FL in 1977, where she graduated with high honors.
You often hear that people are full of life but that just does not go far enough to describe Rita. She always saw things as bright, as hopeful, and as fun. She brought a sense of optimism and loveliness to every situation, and her smile could brighten up an already sunny room.
Rita was a loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt. She had a love only a mother can have for her two boys. She also had a deep love for her entire family and her beloved cat, Dodger.
Having a great love for traveling, Rita and Bill had the opportunity to travel and visit all parts of the US and Europe together. They enjoyed taking cruises, and they were able to take many throughout their 51 wonderful years together. But, the most memorable of all of their cruises taken together was the Alaskan Cruise they took for their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
Rita will be deeply missed by her loving husband, sons, sister, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Per Rita’s wishes, there will be a private family service held, and the family will be having a Celebration of Rita’s Life on a date to be announced.
In Rita’s honor, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Williamson County Animal Center, as Rita loved animals and she always supported local rescue groups wherever she lived.
