It is with great sadness that the Emerson family announces the death of our sweet Katherine Emerson. She was a beloved mother, wife, and Mimi. She passed away peacefully on the evening of March 2nd, surrounded by her family whom she loved so much.
Katherine started her career as an elementary school educator and subsequently became a dedicated and patient homeschool “mom.” This was her heart. Katherine was happiest when she was teaching her kids. She was strong in her faith, a music lover (especially classic rock), an avid Atlanta Braves fan and she never missed watching Grand Slam Tennis. Lastly, she loved family game nights and never lost a game of “Apples to Apples.”
Katherine was preceded in death by her father, Jack Anderson. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Scott Emerson; her wonderful daughters, Rebecca (Mike Moore), Ashley (Maria Jarvio), and Lily; her “oh so loved” granddaughters, Kieleigh and Myla; her mother, Billie Ann Anderson and her brother Andy Anderson (Nancy).
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Brentwood United Methodist Church and will be officiated by the Reverend Dr. Davis Chappell. There will be a reception at the church immediately following the service.
Katherine’s family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Williamson Medical Center, Vanderbilt University Hospital and Alive Hospice. We also want to thank the many family and friends that supported us so wonderfully during this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson St., Nashville, TN 37203-9658 or at AliveHospice.org.
