Louis Eugene Brockman, age 85, passed away on May 4, 2014. He was born on May 30, 1928 in Crump, Tennessee to the late Louis Lohman and Launah Earl Morris Brockman. Gene is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Gale Bassett Brockman; daughters, Dr. Teresa Gale Brockman and Kelly Gene Brockman Worrell (William); granddaughters, Marjorie McCall Donoho and Lindsay Elizabeth Worrell; and grandson, Emerson Brockman Worrell. He spent his younger years in Goodlettsville, TN where he attended Goodlettsville Elementary and Goodlettsville High School. He later received his BS Degree in Civil Engineering in 1951 from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Gene became a Licensed Professional Engineer and retired from the Tennessee Department of Transportation in 1988. Mr. Brockman was a devoted member in several organizations and associations such as, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Radio Relay League, the Short Mountain Repeater Club, the Music City Amateur Radio Association, and the Avion Travelcade Club. He was a faithful member of Brentwood United Methodist Church and a founding member of the Robert I. Moore Sunday School Class. In his downtime, he enjoyed traveling, photography and the outdoors. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at twelve o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 10th of May in the sanctuary at Brentwood United Methodist Church with Bishop Spain and Dr. Davis Chappell officiating. A visitation with family and friends will be held two hours prior to the service. The Robert I. Moore Sunday School Class will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Brentwood United Methodist Church – Prayer Garden, 309 Franklin Road, Brentwood, TN 37027.
