Mary Elizabeth Outlaw Petty

Mrs. Petty was the daughter of the late Sam M. and Mary Pauline Outlaw and she was preceded in death by her daughter Sherry L. Petty, her husband of 68 years Major Laymond Ray Petty, and her sisters Evelyn Cotter, Ruby Smith, and Edith Dell Berry.

She is survived by her daughter Pamela J. Temple and her husband George of Chattanooga, TN; her sons Ronald W. Petty and his fiancé Linda Kroll of Palm Desert, CA. and David G. Petty and his wife Saundra of Punta Gorda, FL; as well as 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. She will be missed by many.

Mrs. Petty had a successful career as a proof reader with E.T. Lowe Printing Company of Nashville, TN, and was a lifelong devoted wife and mother. In her retirement she enjoyed her family and being close to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at Brentwood Roesch-Patton Funeral Home on March 18, 2017, at one o’clock in the afternoon with Gary Petty officiating, with visitation two hours prior. Interment to take place on Tuesday, March 21, 2107, at Middle TN Veterans Cemetery at 7931 McCrory Ln, Nashville, TN 37221.
