Dr. Nathaniel David Robinson Jr.

He was born in Kansas City, Missouri on March 6, 1941 to the late Dr. Nathaniel (Sr.) and Dorothy Mae Robinson; however, he spent much of his childhood in Rhode Island. On July 7, 1979, Dave was united in marriage to Joanne Marie Kaleida. They met at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pennsylvania and were married 36 years.

He received his electrical engineering degree from the University of Rhode Island and degree in medicine from the University of Bologna, Italy. In the 1960’s, he served as an electrical engineer for the RCA Missile Test Project for the U.S. Space Program, then worked as a medical officer for the U.S. Public Health Service Hospital and Veterans Administration; assistant medical director for the American United Life Insurance Company; vice-president and medical director for the CNA insurance companies; and medical consultant for the Social Security Administration. His last employment was as a medical consultant with American General Insurance Company. Dave was also an enthusiastic amateur radio operator beginning at age 14. He talked with and made friends throughout the world.

Dr. Robinson is survived by his wife Joanne Marie, daughter Donelle Marie Robinson (Charlie Nevill), son Nathaniel David Robinson, III, sisters Nancy Van Tuyle and Judith Baugher (Joseph); two nieces and a host of friends and relatives.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 12, 2015 at eleven o’clock in the morning at Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will take place from six o’clock until eight in the evening on Friday, September 11, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church.
