Rose S. Kennon

KENNON, Rose Scott a long time resident of Nashville passed away after an extended stay at Somerfield Health Center in Brentwood, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband Emmett N. Kennon Jr. Mrs. Kennon, the daughter of Callie and Frank Scott, was born in Chattanooga, TN September 2, 1916. She and her husband were members of Brentwood Baptist Church and long standing members of Richland Country Club. In 1949 she and her busband founded Kennon Construction which continued in operation until his death in 2009.Mrs. Kennon is survived by her son James E. Kennon Sr., (Alice) of Nashville, grandson James E. Kennon, Jr. (Katherine) of Nashville, great-grandsons, Drakeford B. Kennon and Noel J. Kennon of Nashville, sister Josie Ruth Jones of Wentzville, Mo, brother-in-law, James C. Kennon (Mildred) of Memphis, TN, nieces Carol Wood (David) of Nashville, TN, Mildred Rogers (Bill) of Fayetteville, AK, nephew Carl B. Kennon (Jill) of Memphis, TN and great-nieces and great-nephews.Pallbearers will be Daniel Askew, Kennon Askew, Carl B. Kennon, James Kennon, Jr., Bill Marsh and David Wood. Honorary Pallbearers will be Deanie and Mark Brown, Sue and George Frost, Patty and Frank Hogue, Christine and Gillis Oliver.Visitation will be Thursday, February 17, at Brentwood Baptist Church 11a.m. until 1p.m. Funeral services will follow in the chapel.
