Mr. Calvert was born in 1938 alongside his identical twin brother, Leroy.
Born and raised in Liberal Kansas, Mr. Calvert moved out to NYC in 1962.
When he first was finding his place in the ‘Big Apple’, Mr. Calvert, and his brother, appeared as supernumeraries in operas at the original Metropolitan Opera House on 39th Street, meaning he appeared on stage but had no speaking role.
Mr. Calvert then went on to be gainfully employed by the New York City Ballet as the Wardrobe Master for many years, later even working on the Broadway production of “Hair!”.
He was a great fan of Broadway, Theater and Opera.
He was also an avid fan and collector of Royal Family memorabilia, his collection spanning the past 50 years.
Mr. Calvert is survived by his Sister-in-Law Diana Calvert, and cousins far and wide around this country, but was predeceased by his twin, Leroy, a photographer who passed away at 63, and his parents Carl and Esther Calvert (née Swink).
