Allen worked as a master machinist and a farmer. He loved classic cars and owned three Dodges that he eventually donated to the Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing. He also spent many hours learning about and tending to his citrus trees. He loved putting smiles on faces as he gave away his fruit to family, friends, neighbors and acquaintances.
In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by three sisters; his wife of 50 years, Leah (Oesterling) Montag; Wife of 17 years, Velma (Smith) Montag; and son, Larry Montag.
