

Betty was born in Newberg, West Virginia to Charles E. Knotts and Julia P. (Haskiell) Knotts on May 14, 1935. On June 11, 1976, Betty married Thomas L. Thompson in Winchester, Virginia.
Betty was a Sunday school teacher and Girl Scout leader at the Todd Avenue Methodist Church in Warren, Ohio and retired from Packard Electric in Warren, Ohio. She was an avid camper, and she and Thomas spent years travelling full-time in a RV. Betty and Thomas settled into the Wesleyan Village in Brooksville, Florida in 2003, where they made many lifelong friends.
Betty is preceded in passing by her parents, Charles E. and Julia P. Knotts, as well as her siblings, Bill Knotts, Lenard Knotts, Charles Knotts Jr., and Katherine Conn. She is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas L. Thompson; her four daughters, Shirley Anderson, Janice Larew, Karen Combs (Tim), and Mary Best (William); her five grandchildren, Chuck Anderson (Joyce), Daniel Anderson (Rebecca), Nicole Jones, William Best Jr. (Lindsey), and Brian Best (Amy); nine great-grandchildren, Colby, Olivia, Caitlyn Joy, Abigail, Cody, Aubrey, Jose Jr., Jaylynn, and Branden, as well as three great-great-grandchildren; and many wonderful friends at the Wesleyan Village.
