

Born in Tucson, Arizona, she was the daughter of the late William and Lucy Strong. Chris was preceded in death by her daughter Niome Rideout (Lorah) and granddaughter Lillian Marie Lorah. She is survived by daughters & son-in-law: Samantha &Christopher Gustin and Alexandra Rideout; seven grandchildren: Luke Gustin & his wife, Kayleigh, Daniel Cipolla, Ivy Gustin, Tabitha Gustin, Joshua Lorah, Sophie Lorah, and Jamie Hunt; brother: William ‘Monty’ Strong, cousin: Doug Carter & his wife, Kathy and her sisters of the heart: Tracey Newman, Joye Runfola-Chavez, Deanna Hawkey and Rhonda Byers. Auntie Chrissy was loved and will be missed by many nieces and nephews of the heart. She has many people that will miss her and continue to love and share her memories.
Chris moved to Oklahoma in ‘81 where she received her criminal justice AA. In ‘85 she moved to Buffalo, NY where she earned an AA for animal management. She used her business savvy and knowledge with animals to open and own a business in pet grooming for several years before moving to Spring Hill, FL. This is where she planted her roots and lived until her death.
In her words, her and “God are good.” She had the type of faith that was real, relatable. She admired King David and his relationship with God because it was honest and raw.
Chris had a lot of hobbies that included traveling to visit the grandkids and going on adventures. She liked to kayak, thrift store shop, shop and try new things. She always enjoyed getting out and exploring nature, camping, swimming and spending time with family and friends.
The memorial service will be conducted 1:00pm, Sunday, September 26, 2021 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel, 2 South Lemon Ave., Brooksville, FL 34601.
Flowers can be sent to the Chapel in lieu of your presence.
