David Frederick Foster, 53,of Brooksville, died in an automobile accident Sunday morning, September 13, 2015. He was born December 1, 1961 in Brooksville, Florida to Thomas Smith Foster and Elaine Marie Foster. David graduated from Hernando High School in Brooksville and the Tampa Technical Institute. He was co-owner of Foster Roofing in Brooksville. David served on the Hernando Builders Association Board of Directors, as President of the Weeki Wachee High School Student Advisory Board, and as a member of the Coastal Conservation Association and the National Rifle Association. David was the quintessential family man, famous for his backyard BBQs and for participating in every Foster event, large and small. He will be remembered by his surviving family as the perfect husband, father and brother just as he was considered the perfect son by his own mother and father. We reveled in David's deep and enduring love for and devotion to us all. We all treasured and benefitted from David's generosity and compassion, his fair and gentle disposition, his subtle wit, and his inner strength. David liked being in the woods or on a boat, he enjoyed traveling and camping, and he especially loved to hunt. We suspect that the celestial deer herd has been thinned considerably in the days since his arrival in heaven! David is survived by his wife, Debbie Foster, of Brooksville; by their children, Tyler Foster and Cindy Olguin of Tampa, Courtney VanHouten of Orlando, and Morgan VanHouten of Brooksville; by his step-father, Karl Baldner of Brooksville; by his siblings George Foster, John Foster (Debbie), and Mimi McLeod (Michael), all of Brooksville; by his nieces and nephews Joe Burgess, Shane Ouellette, Austin Ouellette, Casey Ouellette, James Foster (Ashley), Tara Figueroa (Nick), Lucas McLeod, Dylan McLeod, and Samantha McLeod; by grandnieces and grandnephews Adriana Figueroa, Paxton Figueroa, and Adilynn Foster; and by countless extended family members, loved ones and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Thomas Smith Foster and Elaine Marie Foster Baldner. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 19th, from 3 to 4 p.m., at First United Methodist Church of Brooksville, 109 S. Broad Street, Brooksville, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at Heffernan Hall, St. Anthony Catholic Church, 20428 Cortez Blvd., Brooksville.
