Elinor F. Thomas

Elinor was born in Penn Yan, NY. Elinor was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She devoted herself to her husband of 65 years and her family. She was a proud homemaker who also assisted with several family run companies. She enjoyed baking, collecting, thrifting, playing cards, working puzzles and spending time with her little companion dog, Tippy.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ghale C. Thomas, Sr.; her parents, Fred and Clarissa Smithoover; and her siblings, Betty, Walter, Cleo and James. Elinor is survived by her seven children, Patricia “Patti” Ferguson of Palm Harbor, Ghale Jr. “Butch” Thomas of Dade City, Robert “Bob” Thomas of Houston, TX, James “Jim” Thomas of Brooksville, Cynthia “Cindy” Radike of Spring Hill, Dixie Thomas of Sweden, and Kelly Thomas (Steven Hutra) of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren, Brent, Raegan, Rachel, Jacob, Michael, Max, and Zoe and ten great-grandchildren, Dawson, Sienna, Aubree, Aliza, Jax, Randy, River, Lila, Eliana, and Rio.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00am - 12:00pm on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Merritt Funeral Home, Spring Hill Chapel (4095 Mariner Boulevard, Spring Hill, FL)where Funeral Services begin at 12:00pm. Interment will follow at Florida Hills Memorial Gardens (14354 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL).
