LaPORTA, Ellen G., age 79 of Brookridge, Brooksville, FL passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013. Born in Staten Island, NY she came to this area in 1993 from Highland Mills, NY. She was a Foster Mother and member of Faith Evangelical Free Church. She was predeceased by her son: James. Survivors include her husband of 63 years: Bernard; sons: Dr. Robert LaPorta of Dix Hills, NY & Bruce LaPorta of Coconut Creek, FL; daughters: Sharon LaPorta of Kaimesha Lake, NV, Helene McKee of Spring Hill, FL, Katherine Poquette and Jessice LaPorta, both of Brooksville; sister: Brenhilda Rail of Utah; 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Visitation for friends will be 2-4pm and 6-8pm Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Merritt Funeral Home, Spring Hill Chapel. A graveside service will be conducted 11am Monday, August 5, 2013 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice.
