

Eugene Leslie White, a hard-working and resilient man, passed away on February 22, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on September 8, 1950, in Binghamton, New York, to Mary and Floyd White, Eugene led a life full of dedication and love.
Eugene attended Blue Ridge High School and went on to earn a teaching degree from the University of South Florida. His career was marked by his role as a business owner of EL White Carpentry and as a devoted teacher.
On February 23, 1974, Eugene married the love of his life, Ruth White, in Great Bend, Pennsylvania. They shared 52 and a half years of marriage filled with joy and companionship.
A man of varied interests, Eugene enjoyed NASCAR, college football, especially Penn State, hunting, and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Yankees.
Eugene is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth White, and his son, Jamie White. He leaves behind cherished grandchildren: Josh Delong, Amer White, Brooke White, Brianna White, Shiayne White, Amanda Colon, and Jasmine Belal. He is also survived by his brother, Floyd White Jr., and sisters, Betty Jean Jesse, Diane White, and Vickie Downton. Eugene is preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Floyd White, his brother, Leroly White, and his sister, Myrna Weaver.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 7, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Merritt Funeral Home, located at 2 South Lemon Avenue, Brooksville, FL, 34601. Following this, a Funeral Service will take place from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the same location.
Eugene will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family and his community. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
