
DONLEY, FRANKLIN ROBERT, age 80 of Spring Hill, FL died Sun., Jan. 11, 2004 at his home. Born in Benton Township, Iowa he came here 17 years ago from Brunswick, Maine. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and was also a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII. He was the owner of Donley Driving School in Brunswick, ME, life member of the American Legion Post #202 of Topsham, ME, past Department Commander of the State of Maine American Legion, Commissioner of Baseball for the American Legion in ME, member of the Baseball Hall of Fame in ME and of the Catholic faith.Survivors include his Sons & Daughters-in-law: Franklin R., Jr. & Maryjane Donley and Charles C. & Christine Donley all of Spring Hill; Daughters & Sons-in-law: Geraldine S. & Frank Taylor Hardin of Brunswick, ME and Mary Jo & David Darling of Auburn, ME; Brother & Sister-in-law: Larry & Jean Donley of Ashland, NE; 6 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Geraldine and sister, Betty Binns.Visitation for friends will be 6-8pm, Weds., Jan. 14, 2004 at Merritt Funeral Home, Spring Hill, FL, where Funeral Services will be conducted 12:00pm, Thurs., Jan. 15, 2004. Military Honors will follow at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. The family of Mr. Donley will hold a memorial service as well at a later date.
