Gilford Franklin Boutwell

BOUTWELL, Gilford Frank,  71, passed peacefully on January 22, 2017 after a short illness.  He was born in Glenwood, Alabama on April 12, 1945.  He moved to Clearwater, FL in his 20’s where he met his wife of 47 years Darlene.  He retired from Winn Dixie after 42 years.  Together, they raised two sons.Frank was an avid golfer and spent many hours on the links. Frank worked part time at the Landings Golf Course.   He was also generous with his time and enjoyed volunteering at the church.  He was always happy to lend a helping hand where needed.  Frank loved God, family and golf in that order.  He was a wonderful husband, loving father and doting grandfather. He is survived by his wife Darlene; his two sons Bill of Dunedin and his son Doug and his wife Stephanie, of Marietta, Ga; his brother David and his wife Jean of Spring Hill; his sisters Eveline, Marie, Vickie, Connie, and Nedra of Alabama; his sister Shirley of Spring Hill and his brother Benjamin “Buck” of Alabama.  He will also be missed by his grandchildren Cameron and his wife Amber of Dunedin, Brandon of Clearwater and Cassie of Dunedin.  A memorial service will be held at 10:00am, Friday, January 27, 2017 at New Hope Church, 455 Riviere Road, Palm Harbor, FL 34683. Graveside services will follow at 2:30pm at Florida Hills Memorial Gardens, 4354 Spring Hill Dr., Spring Hill, FL 34609 with Reverend Nick Panico officiating.
