He was born May 8, 1936 in Germany and came to this area 23 years ago from Georgia, but originally lived in Westchester, New York. He served in the United States Army and worked as a tool and die maker. He was of the Lutheran faith.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Betti Schroter; son and daughter-in-law, Robert & Kelly Schroter of Blairsville, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Susan & Michael Bottinelli of Blairsville, Georgia; brothers, Manfred Schroter and Verner Schroter, both of Germany; sister, Sigrid Spangenberg also of Germany; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
