

She is survived by her children, Kim DeWitt Paff, Larie DeWitt Hensley, Barry DeWitt and Robert N. DeWitt; her seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A trailblazer in Florida real estate, Mary Ann played a key role in economic development and helped establish many businesses that remain powerhouses in the county.
Mary Ann was a leader in Democratic politics from the 1970s to the 1990s. She played a role in President Jimmy Carter’s 1976 campaign, with her husband Bob serving as Carter’s state committee representative. Their political influence extended to Bob Graham’s gubernatorial campaign and beyond.
In 1984, Mary Ann ran for county commissioner, known for her advocacy and dedication to community development. She was committed to preserving Florida’s wetlands, balancing economic growth with environmental conservation.
Mary Ann cherished her family above all. She often spoke of her "Charmed Life," finding fulfillment in the love of her husband, the success of her children, grandchildren, and great-grands, and the joy of everyday moments.
