

AMENDT, Michael Ryan, age 23, a lifelong native of Tampa, Florida died suddenly August 3, 2015. He was an Army Airborne veteran and served as a Parachute Rigger in the 82nd Airborne Unit at Fort Bragg. His numerous medals included Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Parachutist Badge and Parachute Rigger Badge. He is survived by his parents: John and Kimberly (Kogut) Amendt; sister: Kristine (Amendt) Hyland; brother: Travis Amendt; Uncle Barry Kogut of Syracuse NY; godmother: Aunt Stacy Kogut-Martinez of Orange, CA; Uncle David Alan Kogut of Emerson, NJ; Aunt Alison Broome and Uncle Peter Schield. He is the grandson of Jeanette Kogut of Syracuse, NY and the late, Arnold Kogut. A memorial service will be celebrated 2:00pm, Saturday, August 22nd in the Chapel of Christ the King Catholic Church, 821 S. Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, FL 33609. A reception will follow in the church reception hall. In lieu of flowers, the family graciously asks for a small donation to assist with unforseen expenses related to this untimely and unexpected tragic loss. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to "Michael Amendt Memorial Fund" c/o his mother, Kimberly Amendt, 2434 Prospect Road, Tampa, FL 33629.
