Rev. Marvin C. Blevins

BLEVINS, Rev. Marvin C., age 75, of Brooksville, FL went to be with the Lord, Sat., Aug. 7, 2010 at Brooksville Regional Hospital, while encircled by his loving family.  Born in Quail, Kentucky, to Arthur & Julia Blevins and was the 7th of eleven children.  He moved to Florida 31 years ago from Crab Orchard, KY.  He devoted his life to the ministry and was Pastor of the Centralia New Life Baptist Church, along with working as an Evangelist in Ohio, Kentucky, Wyoming and Florida.  He preached on four radio stations, pastored five churches and Baptized more than 300.  The number of people reached by his ministry is unknown.  He answered all questions about a relationship with God with one name "Jesus".  His advice for life's pathway was "Read the Word".  He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Dortha, Nellie and Jane.    Survivors include his wife: Linna Bea Blevins; son & daughter-in-law:  Marvin LeRoy & Melissa Blevins of Brooksville, FL; daughters & sons-in-law:  Denise & Dennis Vargo of Eastlake, OH and Lisa C. & Tim Garrison of Brooksville, FL; brother:  James A. Blevins of Ohio; sisters:  E. Marie Palumbo of Tennessee, Pauline Thompson of Ohio, Myrtle Thompson, Helen Albright, Lee Etta Brock and Mary Sisson all of Kentucky; 9 grandchildren:  Michael, Monica, Kevin, Adam, Cache, Chance, Levi, Elijah & Justice; 12 great grandchildren: Micaela, Alexander, Sofia, Ava, Alivia, Chasity, Corbin, Charity and Cordelia.  Many, many other relatives and friends will mourn his passing, but rejoice in his Homegoing.  Visitation for friends will be 6 – 8pm, Thu., Aug 12, 2010 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel, where funeral services will be conducted 11:00am, Fri., Aug 13, 2010. Burial will follow at the Lake Lindsey Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Centralia New Life Baptist Church, 13011 Sunshine Grove Rd., Brooksville, FL 34614.
