He was born February 10, 1942 in Flushing, New York and came to Brooksville five years ago from the Florida east coast. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for Pan Am Airlines in cargo handling and later worked for the Parks and Recreation Department in Florida.
He is survived by his son, Robert Bennie and his daughter, Cheryl Bennie; brother, Bill Bennie; sisters, Kathy and Bonnie; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
