COLLINS, Robert Gordon, age 90, of Brooksville, FL died Monday, August 27, 2012 at Oak Hill Hospital. He was born in Busy, KY and came to Shady Hills, Florida 50 years ago from Hazard, KY, then relocated in 1990 to Brooksville, FL. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and retired from the Tampa Tribune as a printer after over 20 years of service. He was a firefighter and military policeman with the Bluegrass Army Depot in Richmond, KY. He was a member of the DAV of Brooksville and the Masonic Lodge in Tampa, FL. He is survived by his son: Dominic Collins of Brooksville, FL; grandchildren: Dominic Collins,II; Pfc Dylan Collins; Mercedes Collins Nunez, all of Tampa, FL. Visitation for friends will be 10:30am-12:30pm, Friday, August 31, 2012 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel. A graveside service with military honors will follow at 1:00pm at Florida National Cemetery.
