Sabra Marie Batten

BATTEN, Sabra Marie, age 62 of Brooksville, Florida died Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Oak Hill Hospital.  She came here 60 years ago from her native, Ceredo, West Virginia.  She was a home maker, devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  Sabra was an avid reader, devoting an entire room to her books, which included the entire Nicholas Sparks collection.  She loved movies, especially the Transformers, Fast & Furious, Harry Potter and The Hobbit series.  She enjoyed quilting and made clothing for her children when they were young.  Sabra also loved to go shopping, seemingly Walmart was her second home.  But when all else came to pass, her family and especially her grandchildren were her life.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Charles H. “Buddy” Batten, Jr.; daughters:  Lisa Lett and Julie Batten both of Brooksville; brother:  Cecil Arnold Lambert of New Port Richey, FL; half-sister:  June Collins of California; 9 grandchildren:  Gabrielle Batten, Lenea Williams, Shanice Brown, Clarence Lett, Jr., Deshawn Lett, Kayla Maura, Toni Castillo, Diamonique Lett and C’Andre Lett; 3 great grandchildren:  Marcus Brown, Jr., Treyvon Brown and Carter Foster. 

Visitation for friends will be 5 – 7pm, Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel.  Memorial services will be held at a later date in the Good Samaritan Christian Fellowship Church, Brooksville.
