He was born March 8, 1934 to Arthur and Maude (Bowker) Kilmer on the family farm on Houck Mountain in Walton, New York. Ted served in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1960 returning to Walton in 1959 to take Muriel H. Brainerd’s hand in marriage. The couple shared 59 years of marriage with five children, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Arthur “Ike”, Bill, Bert, Ken and Jack.
Family was the most important part of Ted’s life and he enjoyed rocking children and grandchildren to sleep for many hours throughout his life! He was a soft spoken man, and devoted husband who enjoyed working on engines as a mechanic as evidenced by the many tractors he owned and the many trips to Gas Up in Gallupville every year. He also enjoyed building windmills after his retirement in 1996 from 17 years at Schoharie County Highway Department.
The family will have a memorial service for Ted on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 2 pm at the Conesville Methodist Church with Pastor Dot Morris officiating. A celebration of Ted’s life will be held at the Conesville Fire House immediately following the memorial service.
